Activ App Appoints New Research Leader to Drive Innovation and Strategic Growth

Activ App has appointed Dr Lorna Doyle as its new Head of Research, marking a significant step in strengthening the organisation’s commitment to evidence-based innovation and long-term strategic development.

In this role, Dr Doyle will lead the organisation’s research agenda, oversee the development of new insights and methodologies, and guide cross-functional teams in transforming data into meaningful action. Their leadership will play a central role in shaping future strategy, deepening industry understanding, and accelerating the organisation’s impact.

 

Extensive research background

Dr Doyle brings extensive experience in researching the effect of dietary changes on health and on sports performance, having previously investigated the effect of diet on blood pressure, undertaken research involving low-carbohydrate diets and sports performance, polyphenols and sports performance and relative energy deficiency in sport (REDs). Dr. Doyle has lectured at SETU for over 20 years and is course leader of Nutrition and Exercise Degree at SETU Waterford.

Their work has been recognised and published in several journal publications such as Metabolism, Sports Medicine, European Journal of Nutrition, Science and Medicine in Football, Translational Sports Medicine and the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition. They supervised several research master’s and doctoral students and designed the Nutrition and Exercise Degree at SETU. They are widely regarded as a forward-thinking leader with a strong track record of translating research into real-world outcomes.
